| First stop is the province's landmark suspension bridge.
We then head to an elephant training camp for a one-hour
ride on the back of a jumbo. The tour continues by boat
for an exciting trip over the Pai River, the longest river
in Mae Hong Son - at 180-km. We then visit the Padong
Village of the Long neck Karen people at Baan Huay Sua
Tao. These women wear numerous brass rings around their
elongated necks, which gained them the nickname "Giraffe
Women". After lunch, we head back to the city to
visit Wat Phra Thad Doi Kong Mu, know as the "Temple
on the hill". Built 150 years-ago it contains some
fascinating relics of the Lord Buddha brought from India. |
