DAY 1 : BANGKOK – KANCHANABURI (L, D)
Pick-up from Bangkok hotels and drive to Kanchanaburi. First stop is the
JEATH Museum, an attraction that details the life of a POW. We also stop
at the War Cemetery containing the graves of Allied prisoners of WWII
and then visit the famous ”Bridge over the River Kwai”. We then travel
by train along the original ‘’Death Railway’’ track for a one hour ride
to Wang Po station, passing over the wooden viaduct. On arrival at Wang
Po station, lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, we
head for the floating resort. Clients can enjoy swimming and walking around
the national park. Dinner and overnight at the Saiyoke View Rafts.
DAY 2 : KANCHANABURI – SANKHLABURI (B, L, D)
Simple breakfast at the rafts. We then depart for Sangkhlaburi via Thong
Pha Pum to visit a traditional market. Continue to Sangkhlaburi, with
lunch en route at a local restaurant. We then head to the Thai-Myanmar
(Burma) border, also known as the Three Pagodas Pass. This is the site
of a small but thriving border market, while the three small Pagodas are
memorials to the former Burmese invasion route. Those who wish to cross
into Myanmar for shopping may do so (optional). We combine this with a
visit to the Mon-style Wat Wangwiwekaram with its large marble Buddha.
Dinner and overnight at the Ponnathee Resort.
DAY 3 : SANKHLABURI (B, L, D)
Simple Breakfast at the resort. We depart by boat to an elephant camp
and set off on a 2.5 hour trek through hilly terrain on the back of a
jumbo. After this ride, there is time for swimming and a picnic lunch
box will be served on the riverbank near the local hill tribe village.
After lunch, we set off on bamboo rafts for an exciting two hour journey
downstream on the Kwan Noi River downstream. Return back to the resort
for dinner and overnight at the Ponnathee Resort.
DAY 4 : SANGKHLABURI – KWA NOI RIVER (B, L, D)
Simple breakfast at the resort. Check out of the resort and head for Kanchanaburi.
En route, we visit the Kreung Kavia waterfall and the Hin Tad Hot Springs,
a natural phenomenon seen in various regions of Thailand. We also visit
‘’Hell Fire Pass” part of the “Death Railway” track which has been cut
through mountainous rock using POW’s during War World II. The museum details
the hardship, these people had to go through. Lunch en route at a local
restaurant. We continue to a nicely located resort for our final night.
Dinner and overnight at the Kasalong Resort.
DAY 5 : KWA NOI RIVER – BANGKOK (B, L)
American Breakfast at the hotel. Departure from the resort to Nakorn Pathom
to visit the biggest Pagoda in South-East Asia, “Pra Pathom Chedi”. Lunch
en route at a local restaurant. After lunch, we proceed to Bangkok. Arrive
Bangkok in the late afternoon and transfer to various major Bangkok hotels.
