    3 Days River Kwai Village Tour

 

DAY 1 : BANGKOK – KANCHANABURI (L, D)
Pick-up from Bangkok hotels and drive to Kanchanaburi. First stop is the JEATH Museum, an attraction that details the life of a POW through photos and letters. We also stop at the War Cemetery containing the graves of Allied prisoners of WWII, before carrying onto the famous ”Bridge over the River Kwai”. We then board a train (11am) on the original ‘’Death Railway Train’’ track for a one hour ride to Tham Krasae station, passing over the wooden viaduct. Lunch at Tham Krasae Restaurant. Then, continue onto “Hell Fire Pass”, with a visit to the museum. We will view the remains of the “Death Railway”, and then continue to the River Kwai Village (River Wing) where guests can enjoy a swim in one of the hotel’s two pools. Overnight and dinner at hotel.

DAY 2 : KANCHANABURI (B, L, D)
American Breakfast at the hotel, then depart for the elephant camp “Nom Suk” (alternative “Phu Tong” elephant camp) for an exciting elephant ride through the jungle (approx. 1 hour). After the elephant ride, we continue our journey on a bamboo raft on the Kwai Noi River and then transfer back to the hotel, where a typical Thai lunch will be served. Then, continue by long-tailed boat speedboat to the Mon Village where a traditional way of life has been preserved. Guests can also visit the local school. We will then continue by boat to the Kaeng Lava Caves and explore the fascinating rock formations and scenery. We will then return to the River Kwai Village Hotel for dinner and overnight. In the evening there is an optional dance/performance show by people from the Mon Hill Tribe.

DAY 3 : KANCHANABURI – BANGKOK (B, L)
American breakfast at the hotel. We then drive back in the direction of Kanchanaburi and make a stop at the Khmer ruins of “Muang Singh” (Lion City) for a tour around the complex. Lunch is at a local restaurant in Kanchanaburi. We then visit the biggest chedi in the world at Nakhon Prathom and end the tour in Bangkok.
